The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem has been around for over 1,700 years with thousands of Christians visiting this church each year. The sad news is that the monks who run the place can’t agree on whose in charge of maintenance.
It’s gotten so bad that a wooden ladder has remained on a ledge above the church entrance for over a 100 years because no one can agree on who suppose to take it down!
Talk about Christian “peace”! sigh
This latest row or fight is about an Ethiopian Orthodox monastery located on the roof of the Chapel of St. Helena. This monastery is in desperate need of work – so much so that the nation of Israel is willing to pay for all the repairs… All that remains is for the Copts Church and the Ethiopian Church to agree on who signs the docs.
Double sigh.
